Bhupali raag, also knows as Bhup, Bhoopali and Bhopali. This raag belongs Kalyan thaat and all the swaras used in this raag are shudh swara.
Swar vistar i.e expansion of Bhupali raag is mainly done in lower and middle octaves because in higher octave if it is expanded ,it sounds like Deshkar raag . This raag suits for all kind of emotions like Khayal, Dhrupad and Sugam sangeet ( Geet, Bhajan, Gazal ) are music genres sung under this raag.
Bhupali raag is suited for all moods, both thoughtful and happy.
