ToggleBrief Description
Darbari Kanada raag or Darbari raag belongs to Asawari Thaat. The origin of this raag is from Carnatic music and brought to Hindustani music by legendary Miyan Tansen who use to perform in Mughal emperor Akbar’s court.
Darbari Kanada raag is said to be one of the toughest raag to master and it is played deep in the night. This is a very serious raag and hence slow and elaborate Meend and Andolan(vibrato) are generally preferred over Murki or Khatka. The improvisation of Darbari is done more in the lower octave.
