ToggleWhat is Pilu raag ?
Pilu raag belongs to Kaafi Thaat. Sammishra(mixed) raag is another term used for this raag.
Like Bhairavi, any composer can use all the 12 notes in his compositions. Since the structure of
raag Pilu varies from one artist to another artist, that’s why people also call it to as Mishra Pilu(a mixed version of Pilu).
Misra Pilu incorporates not only the main notes but also uses grace notes like Komal Re(k), Shudha Ga, teevra Ma(t), Komal Dha, and both Komal and Shudh Ni.
There are many compositions like Krishna Bhajans, Bhakti sangeet, folk and love songs composed on this raga. This raag is famous for Khayal and Drupad.
